Impatiently Waiting for Miu Miu

EVERY DAY I've been checking Vogue.com to see if the latest Miu Miu runway collection had been posted yet. Miu Miu is my current favorite as far as shoes go and I haven't been disappointed... until... today.

OH WHY MIUCCIA!? WHY??

Not so bad you say? It gets worse.

 ????

I'm sorry and I HATE saying negative things about a designer I respect SO much and look up to immensely but I just don't have any positives here. I don't like the shape, the colors, the details.... I'm so confused!

These ones are the worst! Putty/tan/beige??? A MULE??? Oh say it isn't so!

Nobody asked you Sven.

I need a moment. Am I a shithead for talking smack on my shoe idol?? I need some Milano cookies and a glass of milk to dunk them.

xox,

100 Days Later

Listen I know this is a fun, light hearted blog but I want to remind you really quick that it's been 100 days since the triple disaster in Japan and they still need help. If you haven't already, please take a minute to check out what you can do to help. Or don't.... I just want to put it out there.

love,

Marrakech, Morocco

My family and I were just in Marrakech last week, visiting family relaxing and of course, shopping. I took some pictures of the famous market that was as always, bustling with tourists. I only had my iPhone so the quality isn't great but you get the idea...

There were snake charmers all over the place!! It was so crazy to see these dudes playing musical instruments to these cobras and they just sort of danced and stood at attention

They looked fake until you saw them up close.

Shops just filled with stuff. Stuff stuff everywhere!

We picked up some olives to go with our dinner
Jewelry and blankets and fabric and nicknacks

These little shoe shops were everywhere!

So many colors!

My sisters and I made some new reptile friends

Blocks of perfumed wax. I took some home to put in my closet :)

The famous spices...
So beautiful!
I want to incorporate these colors into my next shoe collection! They're so great.

You may have heard, this same marked was bombed yesterday. A suicide bomber killed at least 16 people at the popular Argana Cafe. I was shocked and saddened by the news, and also so grateful that we weren't there.
As you can see by my photo, we were right there just one week ago.

Crazy.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and their families. I hope all this terrorist shit comes to an end some day soon. It's all so senseless and tragic.

Dame Elizabeth Taylor

Some of my favorite images of the late Elizabeth Taylor are the more unexpected ones...

She's so beautiful just sunning herself. Stunning.

Just a lazy day with James Dean. No big deal.

 She always loved her diamonds

 Insane beauty.

BEST! hahaha! I love how goofy she's being here. <3

Today we lost a legend. American royalty. One of the last of Hollywood's original greats.

I Heart Japan

Listen, I just want to touch on the subject REALLY quickly because a reader asked why I hadn't yet, and said that I may come off as materialistic and someone who doesn't care about it.

The reason I haven't done a post on Japan is because 1. This is shoe blog that I try to keep light and not at all too serious, and 2. Because I am traumatized. Seriously.

I don't mean to sound stupid or naive but I am super sensitive. I can't even watch the news because when I do I cry and sob and am an instant hot mess. I can't watch scary movies, especially scary movies about the world ending because I will have stress and anxiety and crazy nightmares for months afterward. I am SO sorry for what has happened over there and what continues to happen but I just can't talk/write about it. I won't do the situation justice. There are blogs out there with more information and better writing skills.

So please know that my heart is there even if my blog isn't. There isn't an hour that passes that I don't think of those people and what a horrifying situation they are all in. About how I wish I were the kind of person who could pack up my stuff and fly my ass over there to do whatever I could to help.

If you want an amazing first hand account of what happened from a fellow fashion blogger, check out Rumi's post HERE. She has some great links too.

Thanks for understanding.
