She became the first actress to earn a million dollars for a film role, and also became a tabloid obsession with her relationship with Burton, hence the start of a modern celebrity’s lifestyle.
She once said, "I adore wearing gems, but not because they are mine. You can't posess radiance, you can only admire it". Dare I disagree with a Dame, but her violet gems framed by her dark arched brows left the world in admiration. Hollywood lost a true gem, who was 79 years young (1932-2011).
