Shoe Regrets...

Do you guys ever have shoe regret? I don't mean shoe remorse where you buy a pair and then you're like, why the eff did I buy that effing shoe? I mean when you see an amazing shoe and you don't buy it for one reason or another and then it sells out and you're like, why the eff didn't I buy that effing shoe?

Well kids, yesterday I scored a major victory against shoe regret. I purchased one of the shoes on my list! Yes, I have a list. Wanna see it? Well here's the abridged version ;)

The sweetest shoe I've ever seen? Probably. Luella by Georgina Goodman Spring Summer 2009

(photo: ShoeDaydreams -luckyyyy!)

So rad. Dior creepers, Fall Winter 2004

Such a perfectly beautiful wedge. The green is perfect. Paule Ka, 2010
Sold out everywhere, these perfect fringe boots by Isabel Marant, Fall 2011

Some of the most amazing shoes I've ever seen, these Balenciaga Fall 2010 shoes were WAY out of my price rage. At over $2500 I regret not having them, but I can't say I regret not buying them ;)

And I know that Jeffrey Campbell knocked these right off but I still wait for the original to pop up on ebay in my size, the Chloe "doc martin" ankle boot. Love.

Finally, the super popular, often imitated but never duplicated (until now!!) Chloe studded flat boot. Fall 2008, Fall 2011

That's right! The Chloe Susan boot has been reissued! I picked them up today from the South Coast Plaza Chloe store. The LA store had a waitlist and is selling out fast! If you too have these shoes on your regret list, go go go!!! They are also available in red if you're daring enough...

I'm so excited!!

XOX,

New Shoes, New Me?

Ok so you know it's hard to have a personal blog without getting personal.
I've said it before but I just want to reiterate... I am not myself right now. Going through a divorce, whether it's your choice or not, is fucking hard. Harder than I could have imagined. There are so many things I never considered, including that this is one of the biggest tests of true friendship I'd ever witness. It's hard to lose your partner and some of your friends at the same time. It's hard to hear people's negative opinions on what you feel is the right thing to do.
Anyway, you get the point... it's HARD.
So, I don't know why it has come to such a shock to me that I haven't wanted to do anything that I used to do -GET THIS- including shopping. My favorite thing ever.

WTF?

I have barely looked twice at shoes. I went through a period of about a month where I didn't wear a pair of heels once! I just couldn't. I joked that my feet were depressed but I'm not sure I was joking.
Then I bought the Miu Miu glitter shoes...

 TAH DAH!

...to cheer myself up. It worked for about 2.5 seconds and then it was back to the pits. And the flats. Then I really wasn't interested in lusting over things like shoes or blogging about shoes, until... New York. Good ol New York and the thrill of fashion week. I honestly don't care too much about going to a bunch of shows but there's just something in the air here. It's so... fashion-y!

Yesterday I bought what I think is one of the coolest shoes of the season. I'm obsessed with creepers! I wore them every day in high school and tried to design my own versions of them for both Betsey Johnson AND Harajuku Lovers but the buyers just didn't get them. They probably never will. They're not commercial enough. Pfffffft- whatever. I've noticed them popping on and off trend for years now. I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU CREEPERS!

Anyway... so into Burberry I went with a clear mission. To get my statement shoe of the season. (Well, my non-glitter statement shoe. I'm making 2 statements really.)

I mean, are you kidding me? They're perfect! My shoe lust is back with a vengeance. I'm scared.

Do you love!? I know creepers aren't for everyone but what do YOU think??

Next shoe on my radar? Well I'm glad you ask. I am obsessing over this amazing heel from hell by Bally (kinda random) I'm hoping they'll come up with some more uppers because I'm not crazy about this one. Feels a little 2010 to me. I just love the heel and platform shape.

AND this super cool extremely curved heel by Walter Steiger... So cool!

I'm feeling ok today. I'm feeling more like The Shoe Girl than I have in a while.

YAY SHOES!!!!!!!!!

XOX,

Creeps!

So I have to express my pissed off-ness on this issue. I hate to be a brat but I'm really annoyed.

Last year, for my Harajuku Fall 09 collection I made a creeper and creeper boot, which I thought were awesome and I really truly loved.

Well, low and behold amazing fashion blogggers like Rumi at fashiontoast and Susie at Style Bubble (here and here) are wearing similar styles. WHY does this piss me off? Well, because my freaking salesmen dropped the shoes because they didn't "get" them. They had no idea where I was coming from so they just didn't bother.

SO ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!

The upside is that Gwen ordered a pair of the boots in Black and White patent (shown on the flat creeper) and in plaid for her upcoming tour with No Doubt. So those of you who are going to the show- look out for my shoes! YAY!

Maybe those stupid salesmen (whom I actually love, but NOT when it comes to this issue) will feel stupid when they see them in the market and wonder where ours went.

Hmph.

I Think I'm Feelin' Creepers...

No, this isn't another April fools joke. It's just that sometimes I get these feelings about trends. Sometimes I feel like they come out of nowhere, and sometimes I know they enter my brain subconsciously from all the shopping and research I do. THIS trend however... well, I'm just not sure.

I know that Creepers showed up in men's ready to wear recently, but I don't think I saw them on women. I dunno, even looking at the picture above I can't help but think "hmmmm, I dunno" but a bigger part of me is saying YES! Maybe it comes from the men's oxford trend that I just can't seem to back. They are too masculine for this girly girl. And I realize that these Creepers may be just as masculine, but at least it's in a more punkish and unexpected way. Where women are paring the men's style oxfords with dresses and wide leg trousers, I see myself in these paired with a super skinny jean, a latex legging, or even a high waisted mini!

I haven't worn or even thought about wearing Creepers since my 'I think I'm a rebel' phase in high school. But again, I have a feeling about them. The difference I guess is that in high school I would wear the super chunky round toe high up platform version. I actually hated the low pointy ones. But now, those are the ones I'm feeling. Hmmmm.

Well, anyway, I went out and bought me a pair at a favorite high school shopping spot, Electric Chair. When I went in there was actually a kid who was obviously there on Spring break cause he had an obvious Jersey tan that those boys are famous for, along with the disgusting moose hair do. He was asking about getting a tongue piercing and almost ran the eff out. Sorry, I digress. So now I have these Creepers and I'm not sure what to do with them. Ben (hubby) hates them, which I was sure he would, but I'm determined to prove him (and any of you nay-sayers) WRONG. So when I come up with the perfect "creeper outfit" I'll be sure to take a photo and post it. I have these high wasted charcoal grey skinny pants that I haven't worn yet that I think may work well. ;)

I hope you are all enjoying my little blog. Sometimes I feel like nobody is reading and that the 200 something hits I've gotten are just Ben being super supportive. Please don't be shy about commenting, you can do it anonymously.
